Jrue Holiday Agrees to Four-Year, $135 Million Contract Extension with Celtics
Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday has agreed to a four-year, $135 million contract extension, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 32-year-old Holiday is entering the final year of his current contract, which pays him $30 million for the 2023-24 season. His new deal will keep him in Boston through the 2027-28 season.
Holiday was acquired by the Celtics in the offseason from the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster trade that sent All-Star forward Jaylen Brown to the Bucks. Holiday has been a key part of the Celtics' success this season, averaging 18.5 points, 7.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. He has also been a key part of the Celtics' defense, which is ranked first in the league in defensive rating.
The Celtics are currently 39-16 and are in first place in the Eastern Conference. They are one of the favorites to win the NBA championship this season.
